B.S.ED. IN SPECIAL AND ELEMENTARY EDUCATION


Admissions and Requirements Information

You must be admitted to C.O.E.'s teacher education program before you take any education courses except EDF 200 and ESE 380. Carefully review the information about admission requirements available from C.O.E.'s Student Services.

B.S.Ed. in Special and Elementary Education (dual major) Requirements
To earn this degree, you must complete the four components described in the following sections. This dual major does not require a minor or content emphasis.

Liberal Studies Requirements 35 hours (minimum)
Elementary Education Major 47 hours (minimum)
Special Education Major 30 hours
Electives 8 hours (minimum)

Total Required for Degree 120* hours

*Be aware that some courses required for your degree may have prerequisites that you must also take. Check all course descriptions to find out. (You may be able to count these prerequisites toward your liberal studies or elective credit).

You can expect to complete this degree in four years unless you have special circumstances (such as transferring from another college or major) that prolong your program.

Please note that NAU requires that at least 30 hours of the courses you take for your degree must be upper-division courses
