School University Partnerships (NAU & K-12)
A variety of field-based models are currently being implemented and supported by C.O.E. which are designed to adapt to the specific attributes of the region and to the cultural and economic backgrounds of the students. Instead of one model, there are many alternative models available, as appropriate to the region. Thus, there is leeway to plan programs to fit student's needs. Although general guidelines are necessary , the method of delivery and the curriculm frameworks are tailored to the region and the student groups being served.
School-University Partnerships
The College of Education at Northern Arizona University currently supports seven school-based teacher preparation programs. School-based teacher preparation programs are innovative ways to prepare educators. These programs allow preservice teachers to gain practical experience under the guidance and supervision of teachers and college faculty members.
