School Partnerships

INTEGRATED SECONDARY TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

Description: The Integrated Secondary Teacher Education program combines education courses previously taken in a haphazard sequence by students into a block of interwoven experiences. This one-semester campus and school experience has a weekly dose of reality. The all day field-site experience is a closely aligned partnership identifying how theory becomes practice and adapted practice builds on supporting rationale.

Students meet on campus:
8:30 a.m.-- 12:30 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Students are in public schools:
Wednesday

Location: Flagstaff public schools on a rotating basis each semester:

Fall Semester:

Coconino High School
Mt. Elden Middle School

Spring Semester:

Flagstaff High School
Flagstaff Middle School

Area of Study: Secondary teaching education, grades 7-12.

Requirements:

  • admittance to College of Education;
  • completion of all major, minor and liberal studies coursework;
  • approval by department of teaching major.
