PRAXIS PROGRAM

Description:

This is the only local school-based program that is specifically designed for special/elementary education dual majors. This program is designed to prepare students to effectively instruct all of the learners in their classrooms, focusing on the many similarities as well as the cognitive and social differences. Special Education and Elementary Education courses are taught over three semesters, usually at Thomas Elementary School in Flagstaff. Students will spend several hundred hours by the end of the program working with children with and without disabilities.

Area Of Study: Elementary and Special Education

Requirements:

  • must be admitted to the C.O.E. ;
  • all liberal arts studies and EPS 324 classes should be completed prior to starting this program;
  • applications should be submitted two semesters in advance;
  • designed for dual majors.
